Why these

Simply put, most graphic resources aren't free if you wish to distribute them with your apps or use them on your sites.

Mind you, I'm no graphic artists and can barely find my way through Paint Shop Pro. The only reason I post these resources is because somewhere, sometime there might be a person who is actually worse than me in producing graphics. These icons and resources are for them.

Use however you wish, whenever you want.

I will add to this article whenever I create new resources for my apps or sites

Http Post in async task

So, what we want is this:

• Call a web server asynchronously
• Display a loading dialog during the time it executes
• Present the response html.

This code could easily be used as a base if you need to call a web service that outputs xml

Is NSA admitting contact with aliens?

I’ve seen a lot of bloggers and web pages lately, claiming that the NSA has released a document containing hard proof that radio signals of extraterrestrial origin has been received. The document in question actually DOES state that signals has been observed, and it also contains a visual description of the signal in question.

Display products installed without your knowledge

InstallerExplorer is a small lightning fast utility that allows you to list, view detailed information and uninstall software installed on your machine without your knowledge. Some products mark themselves as “System Components” to hide from windows internal list in add/remove programs. This application also allows you to see where in the registry the product was found, and where the product is installed. Many users are not aware that windows installer packages at the moment of installation are cached in a windows folder using a rather cryptic filename, this utility takes care of those also.

By digging up Martian soil and thoroughly isolating genetic material from microbes, scientists could compare the genetic sequence to what we find here on Earth. The instrument responsible for collecting the genetic material is under development by researchers at Harvard and MIT and could catch a ride with a rocket to Mars in a decade or so.

Mission to Mars

The two shuttles Discovery and Endeavour are being retired, does that mean that space exploration will stagnate?
- Nope. Nasa is performing some rigorous testing of the new Mars rover Curiosity, or MSL as it is called. The new rover, as the name suggests, will be able to gather and analyze more information as it weighs four times more and is about twice as big as the previous two rovers Spirit and Opportunity which landed on the surface of Mars back in 2004.
